The place for a great conversation!
For a good conversation you are at the right spot at Community Square. None other than Jan Versteegh, known from BNN and tv-show 'Wie is de mol?' will moderate the discussions between professionals about subjects that will radically change the sector in the next years. With live ON-AIR talk shows about relevant themes, you're welcome to join in on the conversation.
The Community Square program this year is focused on transition in the maritime & offshore sectors. This transition shows in different ways. At Community Square we make a selection of subjects that concern you. Together with professionals we discuss themes such as the influence of the energy transition on you and your career, developments on the North Sea and career development expectations for technical an nautical personnel. Each talkshow runs for 30 minutes.
Young, Energetic and in Transition
In Paris in december 2015, 195 countries decided to stop global warming. Decreasing CO2 emission, for example by using less fossile energysources such as coal, oil and gas, plays an important role. In the maritime & offshore sector, companies are also busy trying to reduce the CO2 emissions of their operations and about switching to a cleaner energy system. Our host will talk with students, young professionals and professionals about the energy transition in their companies and sector and what these may mean for their own career development.
In the maritime & offshore sector, optimizing technologies is a constant priority. But which new developments go beyond improvements, which inventions are going to radically change the industry? The host will talk with different companies from the sector about amongst others emission-free sailing, autonomous sailing, 3D printing, and what this all means for shipping companies, ship builders, suppliers, and everyone working in the supply chain.
The bubbly North Sea
One of the talkshows will also discuss the North Sea. In the last 2 years, we see a lot of developments with important consequences for both the offshore and maritime sector. On the one hand, reduction of offshore oil- and gas extraction, and on the other hand, construction of windparks at sea. These changes influence the way the North Sea is organized, the way we work at sea and the material and personnel we need at sea.
Wind at sea, jumping board for progress
During the last talkshow, we talk about work and working in the growing offshore wind sector. In order to keep growing, personnel is necessary. Which skills are important? We ask the professionals.
